Volunteer, all unpaid positions but rewarded with Cat PurrsJ

100% of our Cats Protection's work is carried out by volunteers, most of whom have full-time jobs.

Recruitment Officer,

This is a job for someone who loves meeting people, is enthusiastic about Cats Protection and is willing to share this enthusiasm with new Volunteers. Training Given.

Cat Fosterer,

An essential Role as all cats coming into care need somewhere to stay, if you can offer feline bed and breakfast either in a spare room or would like a cat chalet in your garden then please contact us.

We need short term, long term, emergency fosterers as well as those willing to spend time taming feral kittens or hand rearing orphans.  Help and Support is given from our Welfare and Homing Officers and lots of information is available to help you in these tasks. Cat Care standards are high and your own cats if you have any would need to be kept separate from the C.P Foster Cats. The branch pays all Vet costs and provides Cat food and Litter. This is also for people who love meeting lots of different people as well as lots of different FelinesJ

Feral Officer

We often get calls from people who have wild feral cats living in their garden, allotment, stables, farms etc. A feral Officer would be responsible for co-ordinating efforts to trap and transport to vets for neutering adult cats as well as trap and assess kittens for homing or fostering.

Someone of a brave nature who doesn’t mind dashing off at unsociable hours, to catch totally ungrateful felines, who will object most strongly to this intrusion on their regular prowl.

Transporter

No not Dr Who’s Tardis but someone willing to give their time and vehicle over to transporting cats, it may be a run to the vets, a collection of a stray, or moving a cat from one home to another.

Home Visitors,

Before any of our cats are rehomed a home visit must be carried out. This ensures the new home and owners are suitable for the chosen cat. If you are a good judge of character and have a tactful nature, why not join us as a home-visitor. Full Training Given.

Fund Raisers,

Cats Protection Branches are self-sufficient, relying solely on fund-raising.

Every day we spend money on cats in our care, vet bills, food etc, soon mount up and in order to continue our rescue work we need regular income.

If you fancy doing a car boot a month or manning a market stall or maybe just holding a coffee morning or murder evening. Whatever ideas you come up with we will provide full CP support with Banners posters, and even some goods to sell.

Public Relations
Fancy yourself as a news hound? We need people who can write in a witty and informative style to help out with the Branch promotion. If you have a PC or the use of one, then even better!

Media

Put Cats Protection in the limelight!

We need to publicise our good work in the local area as well as promote the cats we have looking for Homes. So if you like talking to people or have contacts with the local media - press, TV or radio - why not give it a go!

Food Gatherer,

We need someone willing to ask supermarkets, pet shops etc to have one of our food collecting bins, this enables members of the public to buy cat food then deposit it in the bin. The food gatherer would also need to co-ordinate collection of food and delivery to Fosterers.
